Q:
How do I make a request for a reduction?
A:
Usually you must contact the arresting officer to see if they are willing to have the Court reduce the ticket. Once they have verbally given their consent, you may pass this information along to the Court for their acceptance. The District Attorney's office in Essex County does not handle vehicle and traffic matters unless they are misdemeanors. Or you may just appear before the Judge and make the request in Court.
