Course Description:
The course is a loop course starting and finishing on a running track at the site of the opening ceremonies for the 1980 Winter Olympic Games. The 13.1 mile course follows the Ausable River for the majority of the route. There is a small incline in the first mile and one at the 13 mile mark. The course has been described as fair with challenge. There are 8 water stations along the course that serve water only. If you wish to supply your own drinks during the race, you are welcome to have someone stand at the water stations with your fluids. There are no restroom facilities on the course.

Race Dates:
The 40th Annual Half Marathon will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010. Location: North Elba Show Grounds, Lake Placid, NY. Please plan on participating either as a competitor or spectator. The Lake Placid Half Marathon provides runners from all over the country with a test of their summer training and also provides a warm up for the major fall marathons. Over 250 runners are expected for the 2010 race. Come and run where athletes are training for upcoming Winter and Summer Olympic Games. This is truly a unique and scenic race with views of the historical John Brown Farm and the 1980 Olympic Ski Jumps, as well as beautiful views of nature that only the Adirondacks can offer. |
