Information for Older Adults

In response to the executive orders put forth by NYS Governor Cuomo, the congregate dining location for older adults at the New Hope Church has been closed since Monday, March 16th and will re-open when approved.

Older adults (Individuals that are 60 years of age or older) that are homebound, unable to prepare a balanced meal for themselves, or due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic, are unable to get to the grocery store or lack family/formal supports to get their nutritional needs met (i.e - grocery shopping) can receive a home delivered meal. This program is funded by Essex County Office for the Aging and operated by Adirondack Community Action Program (ACAP). The home delivered meal program has seen a drastic increase in referrals during this time so we want to make sure that we are able to provide this service to the individuals that truly are unable to get their needs met.

To learn more about home delivered meals or any other supports that the Essex County Office for the Aging provides, please contact them directly at (518) 873-3695 during regular business hours - Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. At this time, the office is not accepting any in person appointments at the office as all staff are working remotely.
